Howard S. Lemke, 83, of Plano passed away Monday, September 21, 2009 at his residence. He was born August 4, 1926 in Ohio, IL, the son of Fred and Mae Atkinson Lemke. He married Clarabelle Englert on December 12, 1952 in Sandwich, IL. He was a lifetime farmer in the Sandwich and Plano area. He was a former member of the Sandwich Moose Lodge #1016. He loved fishing, hunting, and especially the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Clarabelle Lemke of Plano, IL; one son, James (Alice) Lemke Sr. of Earlville; four grandchildren, James ( Malia) Lemke Jr. of Lexington, SC, Jesse (Candy) Lemke of Columbia, KY, Justin Lemke and Amanda Lemke both of Earlville; two great grandchildren, Gracie of Lexington, SC and Jason Columbia, KY; one brother, William (Rose) Lemke of Sandwich, IL; one sister, Helen Lemke of Stewart, IL and several nephews and one niece.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Leroy and Gene; one sister, Jean, and two half sisters, Teresa and Mary.
