Heloise J. Parisot, 98, of Leland passed away Friday, August 16, 2013 at Prairie Crossing in Shabbona, IL. She was born July 26, 1915 in rural Leland on the family farm the daughter of Louis N. and Stella (Zuber) Parisot. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. In 1933 Heloise graduated from Somonauk High School. During World War II she was hired as a clerk with the United States Postal Service, to replace a young man who was drafted. Heloise continued as a clerk for 29 years and was then promoted to Postmaster. After 40 years of service at the post office, she retired in 1982. Her favorite part of her career was the variety of the work and the opportunity to see friends every day. Heloise cheered on the Chicago White Sox and the Bulls. Most of all she enjoyed visits from her nieces and nephews.

She is survived by one brother, Martin (Evelyn) Parisot of Moline, IL; 12 nieces and nephews and many grand nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Rita M. Parisot in 2009; two brothers, Leo Parisot in 2004 and Paul Parisot in 2006; one sister-in-law, Ethel Parisot in 2003.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Somonauk with Father Thomas Brantman officiating. Burial will follow in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Somonauk. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Memorials may be directed to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or to the charity of one’s choice.
