Helen L. Johnson, 92, of Earlville, IL passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017 at OSF St. Paul Medical Center in Mendota, IL. She was born April 27, 1925 in Geneva, IL, the daughter of Herbert and Lydia Lien Youssi. She married Orville Johnson on August 31, 1947 in Lee, IL. Helen was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Earlville, where she was a former member of Ruth Circle, and taught Bible School. Helen and Orville Lived on the Strong Farm, North of Earlville, for over 30 years. She enjoyed being a farmers’ wife and life on the farm. Helen’s greatest love was for her family.
She is survived by James D. Pat Johnson of Compton, IL, Linda K. Gary DeWolf of Okmulgee, OK, and Bryan H. Sandy Johnson of Jacksonville, FL; six grandchildren, Eric, Amy, Kristy, Misty, Jena, and Jeremy; seven great grandchildren, Dalton, Bree, Ty, Matthew, Kayden, Julia, and Lily; three sisters, Lois Boyd of Earlville, IL, LaVon Hill of Earlville, IL, and Alice Chuck Sklavanitis of Chicago, IL; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Orville in 1985, one sister, Arlene Arjes, and one brother, Donald Youssi.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 29, 2017 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Earlville with Pastor Tammy Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Precinct Cemetery in Earlville. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 29, 2017 at the church in Earlville.
