Harry Donald Peterson

Harry Donald Peterson, 84, of Somonauk, IL passed on to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 1, 2011 in Shabbona Healthcare Center in Shabbona, IL. Harry was born August 14, 1927 in Chicago, IL the son of Harry and Anna (Lysien) Peterson. He moved to Tracy, Minnesota to finish his high school years. There he met the love of his life, Phyllis Jean Enke. They married in 1945 prior to Harry leaving to serve in the U.S. Navy during WW II in the Pacific Theatre.

He is survived by his daughters, Sheree (Kenneth) Gabe of Mercer, Wisconsin and Peggy Grentzer of Sandwich, Illinois; his son, David (Laurie) Peterson of Somonauk, Illinois. Also nine grandchildren, Kenneth Gabe, Christina (Steve) Stewart, Cindy (Mark) Anderson, Lori (Richard) Weltz, Andrianna (Mark) Schaus, Michael Grentzer, David (Amber) Peterson, Anna (Keith) Holquin, Abigail Peterson; ten great-grandchildren, Logan and Luke Stewart, Vincent and Beckett Anderson, Collin, Ashley and Kristen Weltz, Elkena Schaus, Makala and Anderson Peterson and Emma Holguin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean, his parents, Harry and Anna and a son-in-law, Michael Grentzer.

At his request no services will be held. Arrangements were entrusted to Turner-Eighner Funeral Home Somonauk, IL. We would like to thank Shabbona Supportive Living and Shabbona Healthcare Center for their loving care of our dad and grandpa. Memorials may be given in his name to Somonauk Baptist Church, 315 E. North S., Somonauk, IL 60552.
