Harriet L. Bower, 97, of Sandwich passed away Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Sandwich Nursing and Rehabilitation in Sandwich. She was born March 30, 1918 in Earlville, IL, the daughter of Henry and Laura Stokke Anderson. She married Glenn Bower on May 23, 1964 in Federated Church in Sandwich, IL. Harriet loved to golf, she had 2 hole in ones on consecutive days and finally quit golfing in her nineties. She was also a very accomplished artist. Harriet worked in the offices of Davis Construction and also Allsteel.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn of Sandwich; two step daughters, Jean Erickson and Judy Murphy; one sister, Gladys Rhodes of Somonauk, IL; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death her parents, one son, Doug Means in March 1967, one sister and four brothers. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Leland Cemetery in Leland, IL. Cremation Rites were accorded to Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich.
