Harold “Olie” Olson, 84, of Aurora, IL passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Season’s Hospice in Naperville, IL. He was born March 20, 1934 in a house in Aurora, the son of Elon Olaf and Charlotte (Hilma) Olson. Olie was a life member of the NRA. He proudly served in the US Army with the 94th Engineers from 1956 to 1959. During his service, he helped build a school in France and ammo bunkers in Germany. Olie took full advance of being in Europe and used his leave to visit his family in Sweden. Over the years, he bred a variety of fish and sold them to local pet stores. Olie retired from Lyon Metal in Montgomery after many years. He was an excellent woodworker, making furniture, or anything you could draw up. Olie always had a joke, a smile, and a good story or two.
He is survived by one niece; one nephew; two great nieces; four step children; ten step grandchildren; twelve step great grandchildren; many great friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death his parents; four brothers, Cugurd, Ralph, Allan, and a brother in infancy; his longtime companion, Joyce Stoecker; one step daughter, Cathy Stoecker; one step great granddaughter, Addyson Burgin.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at River Hills Memorial Park in Batavia, IL with Pastor Del Keilman officiating and Military Honors by the Plano American Legion. For more information or to sign the online guest book, go to
