Grant Evan Burkhart, age 31, reared in Sandwich, IL left behind the ones that loved and cared about him on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at his home in Somonauk, IL. He was born June 19, 1986, the son of Keith J. Burkhart and Nan (Perrot) Burkhart. He attended Sandwich High School, he also attended Carolina Springs Academy in South Carolina. Grant returned home and graduated from Serena High School. Grant was taught by his father the sports that he could do for the rest of his life, hunting and fishing, and Grant was a master at both.
He is survived by his parents; his grandmothers, Lois Burkhart of Sandwich, IL and Diane (Perrot) Gould of Oswego, IL; his daughter, Laurelei Burkhart of Yorkville, IL; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, William “Bill” Burkhart and Allen J. Perrot, also his extended grandparents, Bob and Barb Swanson.
Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich with Pastor David Kaul officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at the funeral home in Sandwich. The family has requested guests to bring stories and memories written down to be shared at the service and kept for the family to cherish. Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to his daughter, Laurelei Burkhart.
