Gordon Eugene Knights, 98, of Sandwich, IL passed away Sunday, February 18, 2007 in Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion in Sandwich. He was born September 16, 1908 in Sandwich, IL the son of James Samuel and Ella (Colton) Knights. He graduated from Sandwich High School and farmed in the Sandwich area. Gordon was a veteran of WWII, having served in the US Army, where he received a Purple Heart.
He is survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Myra, Annis, and Katherine; three brothers, James, Douglas, and Browning.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich, IL with Intern Mark Fischer officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 21 at the funeral home until the time of service.
