Gerald L. Scott, 62, of Somonauk, IL passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born June 5, 1950 in Chicago, IL the son of Walter and Helen Scott. Gerald was a veteran of the US Army. Before retiring he worked at the Federal Bureau of Engraving and Printing in Fort Worth, Texas. He truly enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by four daughters, Jenny Scott-Poupa of Lockport, IL, Rachel (Ryan) French of Sandwich, IL, Jessica (Jason) Diebold of Somonauk, IL and Laura Scott of Lisle, IL; one son, Derrick Scott of Minooka, IL; seven grandchildren, John, Alexandra, Ethan, Addison, Morgan, Avery and Sophie; two sisters, Norma Abraham of Minooka, IL and Sharon (Osias) Dut-Dut of Oswego, IL; one brother, Sonny Schultz of Iowa and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Charles and Jim Schultz and one sister, Joy Schultz.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL with Rev. David Kaul officiating. Burial of his urn will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the funeral home.
