Gerald D. “Jerry” Anderson, 79, of Millbrook passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Valley West Hospital in Sandwich, IL. He was born September 12, 1937 in Sandwich, IL, the son of Donald and Pearl Johnson Anderson. He married Betty L. Perkins on September 5, 1959 in Plano, IL. Jerry was a member of the Millbrook United Methodist Church. He was proud to serve on the Little Rock-Fox Fire Protection District, were he served as a trustee for over 30 years, and where he also served as Fire Chief for a short time. He was employed by Anderson Farm Service Tywalk and Elburn Co-op for over 47 years.
He is survived by his wife, Betty of Millbrook, IL; two daughters, Sherry Paul Eichelberger and Kristine Anderson both of Millbrook, IL; two grandchildren, David Eichelberger of Millbrook, IL and Brittany Eichelberger of Plano, IL; three great grandchildren, Jack, Marci, and Ella Jo; two brothers, Floyd Sherry Anderson of Yorkville, IL and Warren Anderson of Oklahoma; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his favorite cats, Simon and Leo.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two granddaughters, Rachel and Rebeka Eichelberger.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Millbrook United Methodist Church in Millbrook, IL with Pastor Stevan Saunders officiating. Burial will follow at Millington-Newark Cemetery in Millington, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Plano, IL.
