George Charles Krivanek, 96, of Sandwich, Illinois passed away Thursday, January 19, 2023 in Asbury Gardens Nursing and Rehabilitation in North Aurora, IL.
He was born in Westmont, IL the son of George Joseph and Albina Mae (Novak) Krivanek on January 4, 1927. He spent time in the Merchant Marine and then the Army. While stationed in Germany he met his wife Ruth Hoch of Esslingen. They were married June 2, 1950 and had their first daughter Linda Mae. They returned to the states and had their second daughter Peggy Lee. He was then sent to Korea and fought in the Korean War. He had many interests and hobbies, including working with a well known professional wrestler, fishing, horses and horse shoeing, golf, his beloved cats and wood carving.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda (Dave) Sampson of Montello, WI, and Peggy (Gary) Gerber of Madison, MS; three grandchildren, Jessica, David and Katy; two great grandchildren, Miriam and Theo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 68 years, Ruth (Hoch) Krivanek who passed away in November of 2018.
