Gary Edward Urban, born on September 2, 1956, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on November 1, 2025, at Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital in Dekalb, Illinois. He was the beloved son of Edward and Cecilia (Pollak) Urban and treasured brother-in-law to Derek Warner who have proceeded him in death.

Gary's life was marked by his deep love for family and his many interests. He was a devoted husband to DeMara Warner, whom he married on October 7, 1979 in Hillside, Illinois. Together they built a loving family that includes their children, Kirstyn (Aaron) Druschba, Kyle (Sydney) Urban, and their cherished granddaughter, Ellie Mae.

Beyond his family life, Gary was known for his passion for sports. He was an avid Chicago Blackhawks fan and a devoted season ticket holder of the Chicago Bears. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, attending car shows, and had a profound love for animals, particularly his dogs and cats. In his spare time, Gary also loved going to the movies, playing board games, and creating lasting memories with his loved ones.

Gary made notable contributions to his community as well, exemplified by his role as a volunteer coach at St. Mary's Catholic School. He guided his son's basketball team to victory and positively impacted the lives of many young athletes.

He is survived by his wife, DeMara; children, Kirstyn (Aaron) Druschba and Kyle (Sydney) Urban; granddaughter Ellie Mae; sister, Rachel Urban; brother, Greg (Diane) Urban; sister-in-law Catherine Warner; nieces Crystal (Grant Chinouth) Urban, Marisa Warner; nephews, Bryan Urban and Matthew Warner, as well as numerous cousins and friends who will remember him fondly.

Gary will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a Prayer Service at 11:00 a.m. at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home located at 3952 Turner Avenue, Plano, IL 60545.
