Gary Denault

Gary Denault, 62, of Somonauk passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013 at his home. He was born November 6, 1950 in Mendota, IL the son of Harold and Charlene (Dreishmire) Denault. He married Carol Savage on July 14, 1996 in Oswego, IL. Gary was a member of The Who’s Who of Teachers, teaching numerous EMT classes. He was the recipient of the Chuck Conley award (which was given for excellence in the EMT field) for a 40 year achievement and he was also employed at Catipillar for 23 years and numerous fire stations.

He is survived by his wife, Carol of Somonauk; his mother, Charlene Denault of Shabbona; two sons, Daniel (Kelly) Denault of Somonauk and Jeff (Joanna) Denault of Somonauk; one step-daughter, Christine Rock of Somonauk; one step-son, Brent Rock of Atlanta, GA; three grandchildren, Jordan, Emily and Abigail; one step-grandson, Justice Rock; three sisters, Carla Cummings of Somonauk, Beth (Swanie) Swanson of Sandwich and Lori (Vince) Guratowsky of Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Somonauk. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk. Memorials may be directed to the family.
