Frederick C. Perkins, 68, of Millbrook, IL passed away Monday, February 28, 2011 at his home in Millbrook after living with cancer for the last two years. He was born May 1, 1942 in Aurora, IL, the son of Ralph and Arleen Heath Perkins. He married Karen Wood on September 17, 1966 in Bristol, IL. He was a friend of the Millbrook United Methodist Church. Fred was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He was a hard working man with a good sense of humor who dedicated his life to community. Fred was co-owner of Winding Creek Nursery since 1957. He was a 30 year volunteer member of the Millbrook Little Rock-Fox Fire Department, served over 35 years on the Fox Township Board, and was a member and Commander of the Newark American Legion.

He is survived by one brother, William (Shelia) Perkins and one sister, Betty (Jerry) Anderson, both of Millbrook, IL; one sister in law, Barbara (Randy) Skyles of St. Charles, MO; two daughters, Diane Perkins of Louisville, KY and Brandi Coffey of Aurora, IL; several nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and his beloved cat, Pepsi.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Karen in 2008, one son, Randall in 2010.
