Floyd Eugene Balensiefen

Floyd Eugene Balensiefen, 69, of Sandwich, IL passed away Monday, February 19, 2007 at his home in Sandwich. He was born July 28, 1937 in Henry, IL the son of Floyd Joseph and Mildred (Kennedy) Balensiefen. He was employed at Caterpillar in Montgomery, IL retiring after 30 years. He also owned and operated Balensiefen Maintenance for over 35 years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and his times at the casino.

He is survived by three daughters, Annette (Scott) Brooks of Kingston, IL, Lisa (Jim) Dreveny of Bolingbrook, IL, and Barb (Don) Moss of Plano, IL; two sons, Randall (Penny) Balensiefen of Naplate, IL and Doug (Pam) Balensiefen of Purcellville, VA; nineteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three sisters; four brothers; and a special companion, Debbie Fowler of Sandwich, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and one brother.

Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2007 at Turner-Eighenr Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL with Fr. Boniface Vaisnoras officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service on Thursday, February 22, 2007 at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to DeKalb County Hospice or the charity of one's choice.
