Fern Elizabeth Eade, 82, of Sandwich, IL passed away, Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion in Sandwich, IL. She was born September 10, 1926 in Manassas, VA, the daughter of Mark and Frances Earhart Swank. She married Dean F. Eade on June 21, 1947 in Sandwich, IL. Fern worked as welder during WWII. Later she worked periodically at the Sandwich Bank, The Boston Store, Art's Royal Blue (with the original Art), and the Sandwich Fair. The round office will not be the same without her. Fern and Dean loved most working in their yard, gardening, tending those iris, peonies, fruit trees and vegetables. Refinishing furniture for themselves and others was also a treat.
She is survived by one daughter Susan (Terrence) Burroway of Aurora, IL, one son, Alan (Joan) Eade of Sandwich, IL. She was the proud grandmother of four, Rebekah Burroway, Nicole (Eade) Hewitt, Bradley (Jackie) Eade, and Heather Eade; six great grandchildren, Jacob, Ethan, Samuel, and Matthew Hewitt, Coleton and the princess Kaydence Eade. One brother, Junior (Guyetta) Swank, two sisters, Alice Iddings and Barbara Petty all of Virginia, and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, John Eade, four brothers, Alfred, Gayle, Lloyd, and Robert, and two sisters, Betty and Thelma. A glad reunion is being held in Heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
