Evelyn E. Spengler, 102, of Leland passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion in Sandwich. She was born October 12, 1914, the daughter of Rueben and Carolyn Martin Jacobson. She married Myron C. Spengler on June 26, 1935 in Chicago, IL. Evelyn was a member of Suydam and Leland United Methodist Churches. She was also a member of the Leland American Legion Auxiliary and DeKalb County Farm Bureau.
She is survived by one nephew, John Jan Jacobson of DeKalb, IL; three nieces, Jan Coleman of Leland, Jackie Goldberg of MD, and Julie Don Kline of MD; one granddaughter, Carolyn Scott Howard of Wheaton, IL; three great grandchildren; six great nieces and nephews, Andrea Brian Niles of Leland, IL, Rebecca Tim Bonneau of Sandwich, IL, Tracy Keith Steinbach of Christopher, IL, Allison Joe Gavin of MD, Troy Jacobson of Maple Park, IL, and Vincent Jackie Kline of MD; several great great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Myron, one son, Kenneth Spengler, one brother, Bart Jacobson, one grandson, Barry Spengler, and one great niece, Meghan Kline.
