Evelyn A. Kvelland, 95, of Sandwich passed away Sunday, June 14, 2015 at her home. She was born April 29, 1920 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Larson Anderson. She married Sigurd E. Kvelland on July 28, 1942 in Chicago, IL. Evelyn was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Somonauk, where she was a Sunday school teacher. She was also an election judge in DeKalb and LaSalle Counties. Evelyn was employed at CTS Knights for over 30 years and a volunteer on the Sandwich Hospital Auxiliary board for several years.
She is survived by three daughters, Gale Robert Pavlak of Elburn, IL, Karen Richard Parks of Somonauk, IL and Linda Doug Stahl of Sandwich, IL; one son, Even Kimbark Kvelland of Geneseo, IL; ten grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1993 and her brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Somonauk, IL with Rev. William C. Weidenbach, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Somonauk. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Somonauk.
