Esther Loraine Waddell

Esther Loraine (Stanford) Waddell, 93, Ottawa, IL formerly of Waterman, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 23, 1924 in Pontiac, IL, the daughter of Elza G. and Rosa J. (Heflin) Stanford. She married Talma Tate on November 30, 1944 in Kell, IL and later married Joseph D. Waddell on April 6, 1980 in Shabbona, IL. Esther was a member of 1st Baptist Church of Shabbona. She was a mother without a child; teacher without a voice; and a spirit that could light up any room; she will sadly be missed.

She is survived by one sister, Goldie R. Purdue of Salem, IL, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both her husbands, and one sister, Vera K. Orvis.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich, with Pastor Tim Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Johnson Grove Cemetery in Waterman. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to A Senior Advocate Group of your choice.
