Esther Koning Fraser died on October 5, 2022. She was born on July 2, 1923, in Lafayette, Indiana. She was the last surviving of twelve children of William and Ida Zielstra Koning. She married Richard Fraser in 1947. They had four children. Mr. Fraser was a clergyman in the United Church of Christ. He served churches in several states including First Congregational in Dekalb. After his death in 1981, she moved to Sandwich, Illinois where she was able to stay in her own home until shortly after her 98th birthday. Her final time was spent at Prairie Crossing Supportive Living in Shabbona.
In mid-life Esther graduated from the College of DuPage and worked in Library Technology. She was an active member of the Yorkville Congregational Church and served on several committees of the U.C.C. at the association and conference level. She was also involved in the Indian Valley Theater and a county extension group.
She is survived by her children Rebecca (Roger) Keller of Earlville, Ross of Chicago, and Emily (Monty) Davis of Deerfield, her grandchildren Heidi (Bill) Force, Trent Keller, Madeline (Dennis) Zic, Hillary (Brian) Henderson, and Colin Davis (Juliet Heye), her greatgrandchildren Mallory, Charlotte, and Farrah Force, and Margot Zic, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter Susan Fraser, her parents, six sisters, and five brothers.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday October 8, at 11:00 a.m. at the Yorkville Congregational Church.
Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana.
