Emma Louise Knight, 91, of Huntley, IL, formerly of the Somonauk area, passed away Friday, October 30, 2015 at Heritage Woods Assisted Living Facility in Huntley. She was born July 24, 1924 in Sandwich, IL the daughter of Chester and Bessie Herzog Jacobson. She married Jarvis L. Knight on August 19, 1944 in Leland, IL. Emma was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of Leland American Legion and the Sandwich Hospital Auxiliary. She was a loving mother, grandmother and dear friend to many.
She is survived by her husband, Jarvis of Huntley, IL: one son Charles Nancy Knight of The Village of Lakewood, IL; five grandchildren, Brian Knight of Diamondhead, MS, Amy Brian Francis of Crystal Lake, IL, Captain Joseph Knight of Ft. Campbell, KY, Thomas Elizabeth Knight of Chicago, IL and Kathryn Andrew Hamilton of Lake Zurich, IL, and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Dennis and one daughter-in-law, Linda Knight.
Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL with Rev. Michelle Prentice-Leslie officiating. Private burial will follow in Leland Cemetery in Leland, IL. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2015 in the funeral home until the time of services at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Open Door in Sandwich or to the charity of one’s choice.
