Elvin R. Keeton, 73, of Plano passed away Monday, November 12, 2018 at Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion in Sandwich. He was born June, 4, 1945 in Chicago, IL, the son of Noie E. and Stella (Lamb) Keeton. He married Sharon K. Wade on May 25, 1968 in Boulder Hill. Elvin was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Sandwich. He retired from Caterpillar in Montgomery in October of 1997, after many years of service. Elvin was proud to be an emergency tech. He was a huge advocate for family time; and loved spending time with all his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon of Plano, IL; his children, Kathleen (Chris) Harrelson of Plano, IL and Gary (Jamie) Keeton of MO; five grandchildren, Kara Keeton, Kristy Keeton, Pvt. Austin Harrelson, Andrew Harrelson, and Arik Harrelson; three great grandsons, Jayden, Hayden, Jarod, and a great granddaughter on the way; two brothers, Bill (Mary) Keeton of Sandwich, IL and Richard (Diane) Keeton of Mendota, IL; his honorary children, Phil Grutsch and Crystal Byerley; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Noel Keeton.
A Memorial Service in Elvin’s honor will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Plano, IL with Elder Gary Mowry officiating. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the funeral home in Plano.
