Elizabeth Olle, known to most as Sue or Suzy, passed away peacefully in Ottawa, Illinois, on October 20, 2026, at the age of 88. She was born on August 6, 1938, in Sandwich, Illinois, to Lysle and Lillian (Anderson) Abbott.

Sue will be remembered as a woman who found joy in the simple and meaningful parts of life. She loved small-town living and embraced the comforts and pleasures that made a home and a life feel full. She enjoyed bowling, sports—especially cheering for the Chicago Cubs—golf, gardening, and crosswords. She also treasured her weekly dinners with Mike, a steady tradition that reflected how deeply she valued time with those she loved. Among her proudest accomplishments were raising her family and maintaining a beautiful yard, taking care even with the smallest details.

For 28 years, she was married to Joe Olle, a chapter of her life that remained part of her family’s story. More than anything, Sue’s life was centered on the people she loved and the everyday moments that became lasting memories.

She is survived by her children, Trisha (Jeff) Wilson, Jill Olle, and Mike Olle. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Josh Gwin, Max (Jillian) Wilson, Erin Wilson, and Rose (Haley) Dalton. Her memory will also be cherished by her dear friend Rosie; her sisters-in-law, Judy Abbott and Marilyn Abbott; numerous nieces, nephews, and their children; and even the grand puppies, Kuma, Sumac, and Stephanie “the terrorist,” who brought their own special place to the family circle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lysle and Lillian Abbott; her former husband, Joe Olle; Joe’s parents, Kathryn and Herbert Crutcher; her brothers Guy Abbott, Phil Abbott and David Abbott; her sister Tia O’Neill; and her sister-in-law Barb Abbott.
