Elizabeth "Betty" Maradei

Elizabeth “Betty” (nee Casey) Maradei, 92, of Somonauk, formerly of Chicago passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb. She was born August 22, 1922 in Chicago, the daughter of Thomas T. and Elizabeth M. (Sullivan) Casey. She married William D. Maradei on May 22, 1954 in Chicago. Betty was a member of St. John’s the Baptist Catholic Church in Somonauk. She held various jobs as secretary for 43 years in the Chicago and Aurora areas.

She is survived by two sons, Dale (Ruth) Maradei, and Wade Maradei; and one grandson, Daniel Maradei.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Donna Maradei; one brother, Thomas Casey and one sister, Angela Harper.

Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 22, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Somonauk with Father Kevin Butler officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery in Alsip, IL. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk.
