Edward R. Marrs, 83, of Sandwich IL passed away, Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion in Sandwich. He was born February 8, 1929 in Sandwich, IL to Al and Bessie (Weldon) Marrs. Ed married Mary Jane Fuchs on June 7, 1970 at the Congregational Church in Sandwich and enjoyed 42 wonderful years together. He was a member at Somonauk United Presbyterian Church, he attended Oswego Presbyterian Church and was a member of the American Legion Post 181 in Sandwich.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane; one son, Roy (Pamela) Marrs of O’Fallon, three grandchildren, Emily Rose, Kaitlyn Grace and Megan Elisabeth; three brothers, Howard (Marcia) Marrs of Sandwich, Arthur Marrs of Milwaukee, WI, Charles (Virginia) Marrs of Alma West Virginia; one sister, Florence (Orrin) Sebby of Sandwich; one brother-in-law, Charles (Ann) Fuchs of Leland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and brother-in-law, Mary (Ernie) Overby, one sister-in-law, Mary Ann Marrs.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 on Saturday July 14, 2012 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, with Pastor Ivan Truman officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Mound Cemetery in Somonauk. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday July 14, 2012 at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to charity of one’s choice.
