Edith Mae Miller, 93, of Sandwich, IL passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 8, 1925 in Sandwich, IL, the daughter of Thomas L. and Gretchen (Townsend) Wickens. She married Louis J. Miller on October 30, 1950 in Sandwich, IL. She was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, where she was in the Christian Women’s Group. Edith was a nurse at Sandwich Hospital and a homemaker.

She is survived by four sons, Albert Miller of Wisconsin Dells, WI, Larry (Emilie) Miller of Reedsburg, WI, Garry (Kathy) Miller of Sandwich, IL and Dennis (Jill) Miller of Sandwich, IL; ten grandchildren, Louis (Susan) Miller of Oswego, IL, William (Teresa) Miller of Maquoketa, IA, Sarah (Tim) Rockweiler, Glen (Shelbie) Miller, Thomas (Jessica) Miller all of WS, Ryan (Amy) Miller of Sandwich, IL, Kyle (Martina) Miller of Tremont, IL, Jordan (Sarah) Miller of Yorkville, IL, Brandon (Ashley) Miller of Leland, IL, and Brianna Miller of Sandwich, IL; seven great grandchildren, Albert, Ben, David, Andrew, Kayla, Rylee, and Audrianna; two sisters, Ann (Ted) Gray of Woodland Park, CO and Elizabeth Foster of Cabool, MO; one brother, Robert (Julie) Wickens of Millbrook, IL; two sisters-in-law, Margurite Wickens of Yorkville, IL and Karen Wickens of Sheridan, IL; several nieces, nephews, and close friends; special niece, Nancy Morel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Gretchen Wickens; her husband, Louis Miller on May 6, 1994; two brothers, Lee Wickens and William Wickens; and one sister, Lucille Morel.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Sandwich with Rev. Bernie Sehr officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Cemetery in Sandwich, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2019 at Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich, IL, with the Rosary being recited at 3:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church or the charity of your choice.
