Dr. Ruben Khachatryan 58, of Plano, IL passed away Thursday, December 29, 2011, at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born January 29, 1953 in Chinchin, Armenia, the son of Mousheg and Armik (Agabekyan) Khachatryan. He married Marta Chimayan on July 31, 1976 in Kirovakan, Armenia. He was a scientist at Argonne National Laboratory in Argonne, IL for over fifteen years.
He is survived by his wife Marta; one daughter, Sona (Michael) Reinert of Yorkville, IL; one son Kenny (Kristina) Khachatryan of Chicago, IL; two grandchildren, Samantha and George Reinert; one sister, Anoush Khachatryan and one twin brother, Rafik and his family and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Daniel and David Khachatryan.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Plano, IL. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Bristol, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2012 in the funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
