Doug Leigh, 75, of Plano, IL passed away Monday, November 14, 2022 at Amita Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, IL surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 26, 1947 in Aurora, IL the son of Bill and Glenda (Hafenrichter) Leigh. He married Kathy Kneller on December 13, 1969 in Oswego, IL. He was a member of the Plano American Legion and employed at Caterpillar in Montgomery for 30 years. After retirement from Cat, he started Leigh Trucking and Landscaping with his son in 1995. He loved driving his truck and working with Gus. Doug served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam Conflict. He was an avid White Sox, Chicago Bulls, and Chicago Bears fan. Doug loved hunting, riding motorcycles, coaching Gus’s baseball team and gardening with Kathy. His greatest love of all was spending time with his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren, and watching their sporting events.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; two daughters, Tracey (Edward) Dowllar of Rochester, IL, and Amanda (Doug) Taxis of Sandwich, IL; one son, Gus (Sandy Kane) Leigh of Sandwich, IL; nine grandchildren, Sam (Jessica), Kenton, Amellia, Casey, Paige, Bailee, Braxtin, Dougie, and Finley; one great-grandchild, Easton; one brother, Mark (Joni) Leigh of Morris, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Jim Leigh, and his brother-in-law, Frank Kneller.
