Doskie Oneta “Jackie” Jackson, 86, of Plano, Illinois passed away Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Pearl of Orchard Valley in Aurora, Il. She was born February 4, 1936 in Red Bay, AL the daughter of Thomas and Beadie (Rollins) Humphries. Doskie married John Jackson on October 2, 1954 in Mississippi. She was an LPN after working at several hospitals, retiring from Medical Center East in Birmingham, AL. After retiring, Doskie and her husband John moved to Jacksonville, FL where they spent multiple years. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband John; two sons, Johnny (Martha) Jackson of Middleburg, FL and Matthew (Jennifer) Jackson of Plano, IL; 14 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; three brothers, William (Nan), Lee, and Laymon (Barbara) Humphries, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her children, Angie Medernach, Pasty Meszaros, Tommy Jackson, grandchildren, Victoria and Jennifer Medernach; one sister, Dorothy Stogner, one brother, Waymon Hunphries.
Visitation will be on Sunday, November 13, 2022 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Plano, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Alzheimer’s Association. For more information or to sign the online go to www.EighnerFuneralHomes.com
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, 919 4th St. NW, Red Bay, Alabama 35582, with a service at the end of visitation followed by burial in Ebenezer Cemetery in Vina, Alabama.
