Dorothy M. Smith

Dorothy M. Smith, 83, of Plano, IL passed away, Thursday, December 24, 2015 at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. She was born January 26, 1932 in DuLuth, MN the daughter of Joseph and Mary Janchar Hennes. She married Ellard L. Smith on August 21, 1948 in Moose Lake, MN. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Plano, IL and the Sandwich Moose Lodge. Dorothy worked several years as a bus driver for Plano School District.

She is survived by her husband Ellard of Plano, two sons, Mark W. Diane Smith of Abilene, KS and Bruce M. Marcia Smith of Sandwich, IL; four grandchildren, Matthew, Nathan, Melissa and Jason, six great grandchildren, Kassandra, Cameron, Payton, Dylan. Ellis and Skylar; one sister Mary Jim Bowder of Mankato, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Jack Hennes.

Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 9, 2016 T St. Mary’s Catholic Church 1001 N. Center St. Plano, IL with Rev. Andy Davy M.I.C. officiating. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery in Bristol, IL. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the charity of one’s choice.
