Dorothy I. "Dottie" Cox

January 26, 1943 — April 3, 2015

Dorothy I. "Dottie" Cox, 72, of Earlville, IL passed away, Friday, April 3, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 26, 1943 in Baraboo, WI, the daughter of Milton and Thelma (Gibeaut) Alexander. She married Hershel M. Cox on November 3, 1962 in Paw Paw, IL. Dottie was a member of Earlville United Methodist Church, Earlville Country Club, the Earlville Fire Bells and the Earlville Historical Society. She drove a school bus for many years for Earlville School Dist # 9, for Tri-County Veterinary Clinic and various other jobs in Earlville. Dottie was a social butterfly that loved to laugh. She took great pride in living in Earlville. Dottie looked forward to her day adventures with Denny.


She is survived by two children, Sandra I. (Jeffrey Theurer) Kozlowski of Earlville, IL and Anthony W. (Gayle) Cox of DeKalb, IL; six grandchildren, Shawn (Rebecca) Evinger of Charlotte, NC, Patrick Thies of Las Vegas, NV, Meagan Thies of Bloomington, IL, Kara Kozlowski of Earlville, IL, Kaley Kozlowski of Pismo Beach, CA and Kolton Kozlowski of Chicago, IL; one great granddaughter, Alexandra Evinger; two sisters, Marilyn Ward of DeKalb and Virginia (Glenn) Wruck of Moline, IL; one brother, Jack (Jane) Wiete of Aurora, IL; several nieces and nephews; her special friend, Denny Trump and his family.


She was preceded in death by her father, Milton, her stepfather, Raymond Wiete, her mother, Thelma Wiete, her husband, Hershel in 2001, one brother, Allen Alexander.


Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Earlville United Methodist Church in Earlville, IL with Pastor Sandy Smith officiating. Private burial of her urn will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Hanley-Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Earlville, IL.
