Doris I. Skelley

Doris I. Skelley, 88, passed away August 30, 2018 at Pine Acres Care Center in DeKalb, IL. Born October 14, 1929, in Victor Township, Illinois, the daughter of Enoch and Hattie (Kittleson) Olson. Graduate of Leland High School and Copley Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Doris was married to LaVerne Harger from 1951 until his death in 1975. She was married to Clifford Skelley for 12 years until his death in 1988. She shared over 20 years with her special companion Glen “Bud” Maloy and his daughter Susan (Charles) Kaminky, his son Glen (Shirley) Maloy and their children and grandchildren. Her chosen profession of nursing was reflective of her nature to always care for others. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and loyal friend.

Doris is survived by her daughters, Jane (Mike) Termini of Elgin, Nancy (Al) Perry of Rockford, granddaughter Molly Termini of Milwaukee, WI, her sister Lois Jean (Forester) DuSell of Geneva and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Wesley and Kenneth.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk with Pastor Wayne Derber officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home in Somonauk. Burial will be private at Leland Cemetery.
