Donna M. Hamel Gray, 76, of Earlville passed away Monday, April 11, 2016 at Heritage Health in Mendota, IL. She was born September 11, 1939 in La Moille, IL, the daughter of Clyde and Lillian Kershner Medlar. She married George Hamel on October 12, 1957 in Mendota and later married Donald Gray on June 24, 1978 in Earlville. Donna worked at Marathon Electric Motor for many years. She graduated from DeKalb School of Beauty Culture in 1981. Donna re-treaded tires at Humm Tire in Earlville and retired from Impact Die Cast. In her free time, Donna enjoyed traveling, visiting casinos, photography and going to garage sales. Her greatest love of all was her family.
She is survived by her children, Rocky Terri Osmund Hamel of Earlville, IL, Sandra Bryan Johnson of Jacksonville, FL and Julie Craig Larson Rosemeyer of Mendota, IL; four stepchildren, John, Kevin, Kelly and Tony; six grandchildren, Sarah, George, Jena, Jeremy, Cody and Kirby; many step grandchildren; several great grandchildren and step great grandchildren; two brothers, Lloyd Barbara Medlar of Rockford, IL and Richard Mary Medlar of Omaha, NE; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, one brother, Fred Medlar and one step daughter, Kimberly.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 18, 2016 at Hanley-Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Earlville with Pastor Tammy Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Precinct Cemetery in Rural Earlville. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at the funeral home in Earlville.
