Donald P. Wiesbrook, passed away at his home in Somonauk, December 12, 2010, after a long battle with several illnesses. Don was born August 25, 1930 in Aurora, IL to Harry and Lola Riedy Wiesbrook. He attended Naperville schools until his father died, when he and his brothers helped his mother farm and raise their siblings. His sense of the importance of family was a central theme for the rest of his life.
He married Rita Heitkotter on September 26, 1953 in Aurora. He was drafted in 1955, and served in the US Navy and was stationed at Subic Bay in Philippine Islands. After his service, he began farming and farmed in Kendall County until he retired. After retirement he continued to help his children with their farm operations and "going out to the farm" was an almost daily occurrence.
Don and Rita also enjoyed socializing with family and many friends they kept in touch with from school, church, farming, and their other activities. Don was a member of St. Mary Perish, Knights of Columbus, Holy Name Society, Kendall County Historical Society, and Kendall County Farm Bureau.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, Harry Jr., brother Tom, sister and brother in law, Lucy and Jerry Heitkotter, brother in law Doug Spesia, and son Greg.
