Donald Albin Clason, 89 of Somonauk, IL passed away, Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Huntley Hospital in Huntley, IL. He was born July 27, 1932 in Sandwich, the son of Gunnar and Frances Marcot Clason. He grew up on a farm in Little Rock, IL. He spent several years working on the Little Rock farm and then farmed in Baker, IL beginning in 1957. In 1969, he moved to Plano IL and began his career in the City of Sandwich. He worked for the street department and became Superintendent of Streets until his retirement in June 1998.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patricia (Johns) Clason, his children, Kelly Clason, Todd (Jennifer) Clason, Mandi (Brad) Brooks, and Jed (Rita) Clason, eleven grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Thomas Clason and brother-in-law, Bob Johns.
There will be a family memorial service with Pastor Steven Mindrup officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Salem Lutheran Church, P.O.
