Donald W. “Bones” Van Hauen, 86, of Rockford, IL formerly of Earlville, IL passed away Friday, July 22, 2016 at River Bluff Nursing Home in Rockford. He was born April 19, 1930 in Rockford, IL the son of Hiram and Jeanette Schroader Van Hauen. He married Isabelle R. Stanford on February 15, 1969 in Earlville, IL. “Bones” loved driving a semi truck and drove for over fifty years. He was always known for being early, and the first one there for anything.
He is survived by his six children, Jerry Brenda Van Hauen of Seward, IL, James Peggy Van Hauen of Rockford, IL, Donita Pearson of Picayune, Ms, Debbie Allan Carter, Janet Bill Myers both of Rockford, IL and Edward Van Hauen of MN; 16 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, one great great grandson; two step children, Duane Dixie Link of Benton, KY, and Bonnie Larry Anderson of Tampico, IL; several step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, and step great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Isabelle, one son Dennis and two brothers, Robert and Harold, and five step children, Rosemary, Daryl, Kurt, Vickie and Richard.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Hanley-Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Earlville, IL with Rev. Tammy Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Precinct Cemetery rural Earlville. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 in the funeral home until the time of services at noon.
