Dianne G. Cottingim, 74, of Millington, IL passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013 at her daughter’s home in Sandwich, IL. She was born March 25, 1939 in Aurora, IL the daughter of George and Mildred (Carpenter) Ackley. She married James R. Cottingim February 23, 1957 in Aurora, IL. Dianne was a member of the Plano American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling and working on crafts with Bob. Her greatest joy was her family.
She is survived by three daughters, Brenda (Kevin) Jensen of Millington, Susan (James Dean) Steevens of Sandwich and Amy (Mike) Ripsky of Millington; three sons, Bob (Lisa) Cottingim Jr. of Sheridan, John (Michelle) Cottingim of Shorewood and Steven (Deborah) Cottingim of Newark; sixteen grandchildren, Brad (Julianna) Jensen, Kim Jensen, Kevin Jensen, II, Rebecca Cottingim, Andrea, Alicia and Brian Cottingim, Christopher, Jason, and Ian Steevens, David Hull, Jessie McGava, Abigail and Brynn Ripsky, Paige and Kyle Cottingim, eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother, Bill Holmes.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Plano, IL with Pastor Kirk Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Millington-Newark Cemetery, Millington, IL. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., Monday, May 27, 2013 in the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Millington United Methodist Church or the charity of one’s choice.
