Diane Krapausky, 74, of Sandwich, IL passed away peacefully on October 2nd, 2021. She was born April 20, 1947 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Ralph and Eileen (Holman) Dobbs. She married Bernie Krapausky on January 21, 1967 in Alexandria, VA. Diane was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.
Family was the most important thing to Diane. Being a mother was her top priority. She was very involved in her kids’ lives, whether it was sports, academics, scouts, plays, dance lessons, etc. She was there for every event, participating and volunteering her time – their biggest cheerleader. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for her family. She instilled in her kids that there wasn’t anything they couldn’t accomplish. She was an eternal optimist.
Diane’s first job after high school was working at the Pentagon in D.C. for an Air Force Colonel, after she and her best friend departed for an adventure. After she and Bernie married, she was in sales for many years with Home Interiors & Gifts, while her kids were young. She worked at the Sheridan State Bank to stay close to home for her kids and worked at the family restaurant she and Bernie owned, cooking and baking. She also baked for other establishments, providing her delicious cookies, pies, fudge and cheesecakes.
Diane loved spending time with her grandkids. She was there for every one of their events too, making birthdays, holidays and activities special for them. Those that knew Diane, witnessed her giving and selfless nature. She would help anyone in need; she always thought of others. She had an abundance of love and kindness to give.
She is survived by her children; Stephany (Bart) Johnson of Kennesaw, GA, Jason (Emily) Krapausky of Wheaton, IL, and Meagan (Evan) Burris of Byron, IL; four grandchildren, Macyn, Easton, Isabelle, and Kyra; two brothers, Steve (Suzie) Dobbs of Palmetto, FL, Danny (Paula) Dobbs of Abilene, TX, and a sister, Connie (Chris) Campbell of Clermont, FL, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernie, and her parents.
