Dennis Ray Craddock

Dennis Ray Craddock, 71, of Leland passed away Saturday, August 27, 2016 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 30, 1945 in Danville, IL, the son of James and Nellie Antrim Craddock. He married Brenda C. Brewer on October 4, 1968 in Plano, IL. He was a proud member of the US Army. He worked for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad for 36 years retiring in 2006. Dennis was a conductor for Metra serving the Aurora to Chicago route. After his retirement he worked in transportation for Plano School District, transporting children for 7 ½ years. He enjoyed mowing his lawn, fishing, western movies, antique tractors, traveling, country music and his greatest love of all was his family.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda of Leland, IL; three daughters, Misty (Danny) Heath Sr. and Rebeca Craddock both of Leland, IL and Sarah (Carmen) Chiarelli of Somonauk, IL, one son Dennis (Sarah) Craddock of Millington, IL; six grandchildren, Danny Jr., Dalton, Liam, Izabella, Kieran and Hazel; one sister-in-law Peg Craddock of Broadlands, IL, several nieces, nephews and cousins. His beloved dog Bubba.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Aishling Craddock, two brothers, Jim and Jake Craddock and one sister Linda Salrin.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk. Burial will follow at Johnson Grove Cemetery rural Waterman, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 2, 2016 at the funeral home in Somonauk. Memorials may be directed to the Family.
