Denise L. Hess

Denise L. Hess, 64, of Earlville, IL passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. She was born on September 15, 1961 in Dekalb, IL. the daughter of David and Mary (Strader) Towne. She married James Hess on August 1, 1981 in Dekalb, IL. Denise worked at Plano Molding for over 20 years. Family was very important to Denise; she never hesitated to help take care of her nieces and nephews. She recently became a Lions Club member in Earlville and was also a member of the American Legion in Plano in which she was very proud of. She was also known at Christmas time for her double decker fudge. Denise’s passion was playing bingo; she played weekly at various venues.

She is survived by one son, Sammy Joe Towne; three grandchildren, Jordan (Koty) Conduff, Anthony Towne and Chance Towne; two great-grandchildren, Eliana and Elias Mansbury; siblings, Gloria Mietzner, Donna Riis, Doris (Chip) Grimes, Doug Towne, Dean Towne and Dora (Kent) Beyers and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband James, and one sister Rita.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 12:00 pm-4:00 pm at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk. Cremation rites were entrusted to Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home.
