Denise Ann Green

Denise Ann (Dockendorf) Green, 56, of Sandwich, IL, passed away Friday, June 13, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 6, 1969, in Aurora, IL, the daughter of James and Nancy (Benda) Dockendorf. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Christian Green, whom she married on April 1, 1989, in Plano, IL. Denise was also a fiercely loving mother to her two children, Ashley and CJ, and a cherished grandmother to her six grandchildren.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. Denise was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Somonauk. She was an avid Sandwich sports enthusiast. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her. "Don't give up, don't ever give up," may have been said by Jim Valvano, however, exemplified the spirit and fight of Denise.

She is survived by her husband, Chris; her parents, James and Nancy; her children, Ashley (Caleb) McCrary and CJ (Bethany) Green; her beloved grandchildren, Brantley, Jaxson, Rhett, Liannah, Mylah, and Hazel; her siblings, Debbie Hogrefe, Diane (Chuck) Hager, and George (Michelle) Dockendorf; her many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was proceeded in death and welcomed to Heaven with open arms by her grandparents, George and Dorothy Dockendorf and Edwin and Anna Benda; and her sister, Dana Dockendorf.

As sad as we all are, we are sure Denise would agree on one thing; don't waste your time grieving, just do an act of kindness for someone in memory of her.

A Visitation in Denise's honor will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk. Memorial Mass will follow at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Somonauk with Father Joseph Naill officiating.
