Delmer C. Keilman 1943 - 2025
Delmer C. “Pastor Del” Keilman, 81, of Earlville, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on April 1, 2025. He was born on Oct. 14,1943, in Portage, Wis., son of Dale and Charlotte (Wilson) Keilman, the eldest of three siblings.
Del graduated from Poynette (Wisconsin) High School in 1961 and married his high school sweetheart Mary McFarlane in 1960. He was employed at Del Monte for 41 years and after retirement, studied and entered the ministry. Following graduation in 2001, he was installed at United Presbyterian Church, Earlville, where he served for 23 years. He served on Blackhawk Presbytery and was active in choir and ecumenical services with Earlville churches.
He is survived by his wife Mary; four sons, Dale (Megan Tarleton) Keilman of Shabbona, Kerry (Elise Haendel) Keilman of Bentonville Arkansas, Cory (Linda Bell) Keilman of Rochelle and Ryan (Jennifer Lak) Keilman of Loves Park; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Delores (Mike) Mack and a brother, Gary Keilman, both of Middleton, Wis.; sisters-in-law, Marilyn McFarlane of Portage, WI; Larry (Chris) McFarlane of Portage, WI; and Pam (Rod) Stibb of Lodi, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charlotte and Dale Keilman and in-laws, Beulah and Leslie McFarlane, as well as brothers-in-law Eugene McFarlane and Robert and Shirley Falk.
Del was a devoted family man. In his free time, he continued his father’s upholstery business for 41 years and enjoyed camping with his family at their Sky-High campsite in Portage and tandem biking with Mary on the Wisconsin bike trails.
A celebration of Del’s life with friends and family will include a visitation on Friday, April 4 from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday April, 5 from 10 to 11 a.m. at United Presbyterian Church 602 South Ottawa ST. Earlville, IL, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Sandy Smith and Pastor Laurie Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Precinct Cemetery in Earlville.
