David L. Stanford, 67, of Oswego, formerly of Earlville passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born November 17, 1945 in Mendota, IL the son of Jesse and Ethel (Guelde) Stanford. He married Bonnie Atwell on October 30, 1965 in Earlville. David enjoyed NASCAR, bird watching, gardening, fishing, and just tinkering with things in his garage. He loved spending time with his neighbors, friends, and his greatest joy, his family.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie of Oswego, IL; one daughter, Tina (Mike) Painter of Greencastle, IN; one son, Darin (Kate) Stanford of Prairie Du Sac, WI; five grandchildren, Josh, Justin, Jared, Renee and Tyler; one sister, Bette (Ted) Thern of Easley, SC.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Christopher Stanford and one brother, Jesse Wayne Stanford.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 21, 2013 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Plano. Graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. in Precinct Cemetery in Earlville. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at the funeral home in Plano. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Kendall County Food Pantry.
