David G. Grey

David G. Grey, 78, of Earlville, IL passed away peacefully at his home, Thursday, May 7, 2015. He was born November 28, 1936 in rural Earlville, IL the son of Harold and Elva (Greenfield) Grey. He farmed in the Earlville area his entire life. Dave worked at Del Monte in Mendota for 25 years. He was President on Earlville CO-OP Board of directors for 10 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years, and he held a 32nd Degree in Masonry. He was a member of the Mendota Elks Lodge, the Mendota Moose Lodge and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Earlville. His greatest joy was spending time with his children, grandchildren, and his dog Spuds.
He is survived by one daughter, Carole ( Tim) Eich of Mendota, IL, three sons, James (Kim) Grey , Jonathan (Linda) Grey, both of Earlville, IL and Joseph (Kris) Grey of Ottawa, IL; 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren, and 3 nieces. The mother of his children, Jeralyn Grey of Ottawa, IL. His special friend, Karla Higgins of Ottawa, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Constance Organ, two sisters, Gretchen Ehlers and Deborah Grey.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Immanuel Lutheran Church 415 S. East St. Earlville, with Pastor Del Keilman officiating. Burial will follow in Precinct Cemetery rural Earlville. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, May 11th in the church with a Masonic Service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
