Darl F. Scholl, 78, of Somonauk, formerly of Chicago, passed away Monday, September 22, 2014 at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, IL. He was born June 22, 1936 in Chicago, IL the son of Delbert and Luella (Chapman) Scholl. He married Margaret M. Wade on May 17, 1958 in Chicago. Darl retired as a Sergeant from the Chicago Police Department in March 1990. He was a member of FOP, Chicago Police Sergeant Association. Darl enjoyed r ving, fishing, his dogs watching the White Sox and he was an avid Blackhawks fan.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret of Somonauk, IL; two children, Robert Scholl of Iron River, MI and Janice Eckert of Hickory Hills, IL; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth (Jacob) Hardesty and Kimberly Scholl both of OH, Marc Eckert, Kelly Ann Somrek and Tracy Elizabeth Somrek all from Hickory Hills, IL, Robert Francis Scholl Jr. and Angela Margaret Scholl both of Sandwich, IL and Colleen Marie Scholl of Chicago, IL; three great grandchildren, Emma, Bri and Layla.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Daniel Scholl and one daughter in infancy, Karen Scholl.
Private services were held at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk with Father Donald DeSalvo officiating. Inurnment of his urn will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL at a later date.
