Daniel "Pete" Sinetos

Daniel “Pete” Sinetos, 56, of Somonauk, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, February 27th, 2014 at Valley West Hospital in Sandwich. He was born July 23, 1957 in Chicago, to Daniel and Patricia (Scherer) Sinetos. He was a graduate of Glenbard East High School. Pete was a longtime mason, owned his own masonry business for many years, and was a self-proclaimed “Artiste” when it came to bricklaying. He enjoyed cooking and gettogethers with family, especially his grandkids. A loving son, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, who will be deeply missed by his family and all that knew him.

He is survived by the love of his life Jan Knudsen; two sons Nick (Kristal) Sinetos of Leland IL and Phil (Kristine) Sinetos of Sandwich IL; two stepchildren Stacy (Mike) Gianino of Anna TX and Byron (Ashley) Knudsen of Dunlap IL; one daughter Tania (Troy) Kern of Sandwich IL; fourteen grandchildren: Jordan, Jazlynn, Jenna, Jaden, Austin, Alexis, Aiden, Lucah, Claire, Ava, Samantha, Kody, Kadin, and Kai; his father Daniel (Cheryl) Sinetos of Vero Beach, FL; one brother, Andrew Sinetos of Aurora IL; two sisters Penny (James ”Jr.”) Wilds of Winfield IL and Elizabeth (Dan) Weigel of Yorkville IL; and several aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many amazing friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia, and two grandsons, Ashton and Silas.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Harvest Chapel Church, 725 South County Line Road Sandwich. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday March 7, 2014 at Harvest Chapel Church. Burial will follow in St. Johns Catholic Cemetery in Somonauk.
