Daniel W. Locke, Jr., of Plano formerly of McMinnville, TN passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013 in Naperville, IL He was born in McMinnville, TN the son of Daniel W. and Mabel (Sellars) Locke, Sr. He married Susan Allen on December 25, 1958 in Woodbury, TN. Daniel was an All State Basketball Player in McMinnville, TN. He was employed at Caterpillar for 35 years, retiring in 1986. Daniel was an avid fisherman, reader, a great provider and his greatest love of all was his family.
He is survived by his wife, Susan of Plano, IL; Twin daughters, Pam (Tom) Wood of Aurora, IL and Tami Seperack of Oswego, IL; one granddaughter, Alyssa Seperack of Oswego, IL; three grandsons, Alec Seperack of Oswego, IL, Zachary Wood of Aurora, IL and Nicklaus Wood of Aurora, IL; two sisters, Nelda Turner of Chattanooga, TN and Lavern Ours of McMinnville, TN; one brother, Carl (Linda) Locke of Snellville, GA and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Sally Cope, two brothers, Aubrey and Howard Locke.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at McMinnville Funeral Home in McMinnville, TN with Reverend Nick Pelham officiating. Burial will follow in McMinnville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at the funeral home. A celebration of his life will be held at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home on Sunday, August 18, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the charity of one’s choice.
