Danette “Danny” Louise (Lunda) Habets, 57, of Earlville, formerly of Montana, passed away Friday, September 25, 2015 at OSF St. Anthony Hospital in Rockford, IL. She was born January 8, 1958 in Shelby, MT, the daughter of Albert Frank and Clara Belle (Ladd) Lunda. In her younger years, Danette cooked in several restaurants in Shelby, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She was artistically inclined, making stained glass for her family and friends. Anyone was welcome in her home, especially the neighborhood children, who she watched over and baked for regularly. Danette was extremely involved in raising Tom’s son, Bryce, planning events and activities for him and all of his friends. She loved spending time with her family and her pet cat, “B.” Danette was selfless, loved unconditionally and always gave of herself, never asking for anything in return all the way to the end, even then she gave of herself by being a donor.
She is survived by her father, Albert of Shelby, MT; three sons, James, Adam and Randy all of MT; two grandsons, Braxtin and Tristian of MT; one granddaughter, Saphire of MT; two sisters, Dona Lunda of Great Falls, MT and Denise Huber of Conrad, MT; two brothers, Allen Lunda of Anchorage, AK and Duane Lunda of PA; many nieces, nephews and cousins; her companion, best friend, love of her life and soul mate, Tom Duff of Earlville.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Clara and one brother, Alvin Lunda.
According to Danette’s wishes, there will be a celebration of life at a later date in MT. Cremation Rites were accorded to Hanley-Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Earlville. For more information or to sign the online guest book, go to
