Dana C. Dockendorf, 49, of Sterling, formerly of Plano, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Exceptional Healthcare Facility in Sterling, IL. She was born October 1, 1965 in Aurora, IL, the daughter of James and Nancy (Benda) Dockendorf.
She is survived by her parents, James and Nancy of Somonauk, IL; three sisters, Deborah (Michael) Hogrefe of Brentwood, TN, Diane (Chuck) Hager of Sugar Grove, IL and Denise (Chris) Green of Sandwich, IL; one brother, George (Michelle) Dockendorf of Sandwich, IL; her grandmother, Anna Benda of South Daytona, FL; one aunt, Dorothy (Lonny) Larson of Port Orange, FL; one uncle, Roger Benda of South Daytona, FL; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Edwin Benda, George and Dorothy Dockendorf and Aunt Anne (Dean) Griffing.
Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Plano, IL with Father Andy Davy, M.I.C. officiating. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Bristol, IL. Memorials may be directed to Exceptional Care Training Center Parents Group, Hospice of the Rock River Valley or Open Door Rehabilitation.
