Dale W. Briggs, 73, of Sandwich, IL passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Valley West Community Hospital in Sandwich. He was born August 9, 1938 in Canton, IL the son of Fred and Jessie (Green) Briggs. He was an avid sports fan, especially a diehard Phillies fan. Dale enjoyed traveling, and being a US Army Veteran. He retired from Caterpillar after thirty years of service.
He is survived by two loving daughters, Robyn (Mike) Adkins of Sandwich, IL and Angela (Christopher) Goulding of Hoffman Estates, IL; three grandchildren, Amber (Jake) Gray of Plano, IL, Nathan Adkins of Sandwich, IL and Zachary Goulding of Hoffman Estates, IL; three great grandchildren, Nicolas, Tyler and Abigale Gray, that he adored, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister.
Memorial services will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, January 28, 2012 at First Apostolic Church 221 N. Eddy Street Sandwich, IL with Rev. John William Davis officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday, January 28, 2012 in the church. Memorials may be directed to the First Apostolic Church or the charity of one’s choice.
